The View -- And Taste -- From Up Top: Hershey's Air Delight

Last week, I had THE ultimate summer experience. Not kidding. In fact, I thought it was so good that summer could have ended right the very next day and I would have been totally satisfied. Not kidding.

I had the unique opportunity to attend a taste-testing of the newest addition to the Hershey’s chocolate family – Air Delight. But get this: the taste-testing entailed a helicopter ride across Manhattan and a hot air balloon ride in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. That's right... it was a sky-high tasting experience. And it was some kind of awesome.

Lovely Manhattan
Lady Liberty
Times Square
The aerial view of Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, and the Empire State Building was just breathtakingly beautiful. At one point during our helicopter ride, we all stopped our “oohs” and “aahs” because we were just taking in the amazingness. Wowsa… what an experience!

Seriously though, is there another word for "amazing"? Because that's what this was.

It was THE only way to see Manhattan and I definitely fell in love with this spectacular city all over again. Not kidding.

Okay, so about the chocolate…

Hershey’s Air Delight is one of the first aerated chocolates from the company. And it's the right amount of everything. The milk chocolate is not too rich, not too thick. It is the perfect light and airy texture. When you bite into it, you can clearly see the air bubbles. When it melts in your mouth, the taste is savored and it lingers…

Sweetness!

I felt as though I was floating. And not only because I was in one kick-ass hot air balloon. The chocolate tasting itself made me feel as though I was on air. On some kind of Hershey’s milk chocolate high. Figuratively. And in love. Literally.

I have a terrible fear of heights, but I was such a trooper in the Hershey’s hot air balloon – smiling, laughing, and enjoying the chocolate. And, at about 100 feet in the air, who wouldn’t be?

The event was meticulously thought out and very well executed. I know it must have taken a lot of planning for it to go off without a hitch. I am thoroughly impressed and so happy to have been part of such an amazing experience.

Thanks to Hershey’s for putting together a truly wonderful and one-of-a-kind event!

Visit the Hershey’s website for more information on their aerated chocolate treat.

(Disclaimer: Event attendees received a gift-bag from Hershey’s, helicopter ride, and hot air balloon ride. No other compensation was provided. All opinions expressed herein are my own. And yes, I’m still high off of the chocolate. And helicopter ride.)
