Tis The Season for "Tunes With Tina"

On any given day there are a million and one things to do in New York City with the kiddies. And there are a million new things to try out too. That's why I love living here so much.

A couple weekends ago, after scoping out some of the magical window displays on 5th Avenue, Aiden and I visited Bar on Fifth (400 5th Avenue at 26th street) for brunch and live music with Tina deVaron, one of NYC's premiere singer, songwriter, and jazz pianists.

When Aiden wasn't enjoying his yummy pancakes, touching the piano (even though that technically wasn't allowed), or interrupting the show by asking Tina to tie his shoelaces, he was having a grand 'ol time rocking it out to some of his favorite songs -- "The Itsy Bitsy Spider," "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes," and "If You're Happy and You Know It," amongst others.

Tina was great with the kids and managed to keep them engaged and excited (while I was hoping and praying and crossing my fingers that Aiden didn't break something at the fancy venue. He didn't -- whew!)

{Little dude needed a brief time-out}

{With Tina deVaron}
Tunes with Tina has two 90-minute shows on Sundays -- one at 10am and one at 12pm. Additional shows are scheduled around the Holidays, and it's a nice way to spend time with out-of-town relatives who may not want to see a Broadway show, but may not want to hang out at the playground with the kids either. Check it out! Reservations are required so call 212.695.4005.

{Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this post. Two spots were reserved for me in order to facilitate this review.}

  1. That sounds like a great show! My little man probably would have given her some competition singing those songs! He loves ALL of those songs. Especially the Itsy Bitsy Spider!!
